When one of my best friends brought to my attention that I've been unknowingly missing out on some killer pizza, I promptly Googled Dani's and suggested we meet there for lunch, despite being highly skeptical of a rather unserious, un-Italian sounding name. "House of Pizza", really? Hmm .... Well, one bite into their product and I was waxing philosophical - - really, what's in a name after all? It's the product itself that matters and the fact is that Dani's is one of the best regular slices I've ever had - - its size dwarfed the paper plate it was placed upon, and it was all the things: perfectly thin, crispy, chewy, tangy, and oh-so-delightfully sweet (is the rumor about strawberries true? I need answers!) Their famous pesto slice, which I enjoyed plain, was equally delicious, wonderfully savory and unctuous (in a good way). As luck would have it, a Sicilian pie with vodka sauce exited the oven just as we were about to leave, so we snagged a slice on the way out - - if you love lots of stretchy mozzarella on your pizza, don't miss this one. Folks seated next to us were enjoying some pasta and salad which we were just too full to try out this trip but everything looked delicious. The restaurant interior itself is tiny (but cozy and quaint) so if you want to get a coveted stool at the counter, get there as close to opening as possible (2pm) - - listening to the phone ring off the hook while the pizzaiolos work their magic directly across the counter from you just adds to the charm of this place. And be sure and order your soda from the fountain, as it really complements the pizza best.

Was told by multiple people to come try this place so I finally decided to pull the trigger and go. Already went twice so here's my review. The first time I decided to try their chicken parm hero. Was $12 and definitely worth the price. Nice size and I only ate half so it lasted two days. Was delicious tho I kinda wish the chicken was thicker cause I mostly tasted the bread. Second time I decided to try the meatball parm hero. Again, delicious but for most of it I could mostly taste only bread. I feel like they either need to add more filling or use a thinner bread so it's not all I'm tasting. Clearly I've already gone back a second time so I can say this place is good. Maybe I'll try other things but idk. Everything else is a bit pricy or not my thing. We'll see.

You can't go wrong with Dani's pizza. It's a neighborhood gem serving the same authentic pizza for years. Their sauce is incredible so try a regular with extra sauce if you can. They also have a pesto sauce and hot honey if you want to add a touch to have a perfect savory to sweet bite! There is limited space for seating but if you are looking to takeout or grab a slice it's the perfect place.

I think Danny's is a lesser known NY pizza spot, unless you really know NY food or are from Queens. This makes for it being a cool destination to stop by if you're in the area. It's located on a corner in walking distance of the LIRR station. Very narrow on the inside, but the staff are always friendly. So what makes this place stand out? It's the sauce. You'll ever love it and crave it or it may not be for you. It's distinct and honestly, it hits all the boxes for me. Tangy, sweet, not too thick, and it goes great with their blend of cheese and thin crispy crust. Don't forget to try their pesto slice. They're known for two things: the regular slice and the pesto slice, which as far as I've seen, not too many places do. The Pesto slice is worth trying, even if you aren't a fan of pesto. One of my favorite spots in NYC and I'll make an effort to get here when I'm in the are.

Had dinner at Dani's last night and it was all as good as it always is. Still love their chilled red wine. So so so many beers to choose from. The menu might be pared down a bit but all the best dishes are still there. We ate and loved lobster ravioli, chicken parm and pasta, eggplant casserole, chicken francese, fried calamari, garden and Caesar salads and baked clams. Thanks for the great food!!!!
